Bringing new life into the world is a miraculous journey, one that is both beautiful and profound.

As a certified birth doula, I am passionate about supporting expectant mothers and their partners through this transformative experience.

Meet Your Certified Doula

At Ellerbee Doula Services, you'll find Ellen, a certified birth doula with a passion for nurturing families through the transformative experience of childbirth. Originally from the UK, Ellen has called the Boston area home for over a decade. With a background rooted in caring for her younger siblings and a deep-seated fascination with pregnancy and childbirth, Ellen's journey into doula work was a natural progression. Inspired by her experiences and driven by her desire to support mothers and families, Ellen embarked on a path of education, research, and certification, officially beginning her doula journey after the birth of her second child.

  • Ellen brings her expertise and passion for supporting parents in Massachusetts, including but not limited to Medford, Malden, Somerville, Cambridge, and Arlington areas. In addition, she has worked across various hospitals in greater Boston, including Winchester Hospital, Mount Auburn Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and Brigham and Women's Hospital.

  • “Ellen was so helpful in helping me mentally prepare for the delivery. The delivery itself was fast and it was crucial for her to be there to help with everything, including keeping me company post-delivery. The best support during labor was breathing techniques through contractions. I also appreciated the encouraging words and prayers that she said over me during the process.”

  • “Ellen encouraged me when I needed her, providing the emotional and physical support that made me feel safe, calm and confident. I had a positive and joyful experience throughout my pregnancy and labor because of her. She is knowledgeable and professional and had patience with me, answering my questions and comforting me when I was anxious about labor.”

    — Silvia

  • “Ellen was by my side along with my husband, She calmed me, encouraged me and catered to me throughout the whole birth. She helped vocalize to the health professionals when I wasn’t comfortable with certain things and provided emotional, mental and physical support. It was exactly what I needed.”

    — Melissa

  • “I felt comforted, knowing I had the tools going into labor, she was great!”

    — Erica

  • “We absolutely loved having Ellen as our birth doula! She was so accommodating throughout our whole experience. I had thought of a birth doula as someone who just shows up for the birth but she not only met with us beforehand but also was very available via text. Labor can be such an unknown and our daughter was born a week late. Ellen was so encouraging the whole week while we were just waiting and was very willing to answer any questions or just offer suggestions or encouragement. She also never made me feel bad for not being on a schedule. During labor she was also super encouraging, offering reassurance about the struggle and was able to relate to how I was feeling because of her 3 kids! She honestly made me feel like I was doing a great job (even when I was saying I was ready to give up) and I super appreciated her calming presence!”
